Join us for an engaging day dedicated to Pre- and Early Dynastic Egypt at Swansea University! Featuring esteemed international scholars and specialists from Swansea, this event will showcase the latest fieldwork discoveries and delve into how our collections at the Egypt Centre contribute to important new research on early polities, Nubian communities, and advances in metallurgy during this period of political and social transformation. There will also be talks on the scientific analysis of ancient vessel contents from Swansea, as well as new results that allow us to distinguish authentic prehistoric artefacts from modern forgeries in our collection. Don’t miss hands-on handling sessions with unpublished materials. Participation is free, both in-person and online. We look forward to welcoming you to Swansea for a day of exploration and discovery!
This event is organised by the OLCAP Research Group in collaboration with the Egypt Centre.
