The Egypt Centre is a fully Accredited Museum. This is a scheme managed by Arts Council England that sets out nationally agreed standards for UK museums. To qualify, museums must meet standards on how they are managed, for the services they offer, and how they care for collections. We are one of over 1700 museums across the UK to participate in the scheme.
Full Accreditation Status is awarded to a museum for five years, after which they are invited to provide evidence to demonstrate continuing compliance with the Accreditation Standard. This focuses on how the museum is run, how they manage their collections, and engage with visitors.
The Egypt Centre was most recently awarded the continued status of Full Accreditation on 16th March 2023, something which we are extremely proud of!
